PSO - Knowledge & Communication is an entity with 12 years of activity that promotes several knowledge forums from various quadrants, namely in the field of economy, technology and sustainable development.
At the beginning of 2020, we will have 2 great forums in Portugal, one in Lisbon and one in Porto. This Porto forum will receive, among other speakers, the distinguished Portuguese Economist, named Sérgio Rebelo, and the consecrated Professor and Business Angel, Pablo Soler Bach, in a single meeting, where there will be, in the first panel, a sharing of experiences between entities and, in the second panel, a debate among other entities.
The purpose of this forum is to bring together several experts, national and international, and provide a space for joint reflection to design and discuss the major business challenges in this new (increasingly) digital era.
Conference Location: AEP - Associação Empresarial de Portugal.
Address: Av. Dr. António Macedo, 196 4450-617 Leça da Palmeira

Sérgio Rebelo graduated in Economics from the University of Rochester.
What we can expect in this speach:
Sérgio Rebelo will explain how all digital transformation may be linked to an optical optimization of the management of companies in the light of the issues mentioned and in a form of union between the traditional work model and the digital age. New digital technologies are profoundly changing the business world and mastery of these technologies requires the ability to attract, retain and motivate talented employees. In this session, it will be important to understand what opportunities digital technologies in general and artificial intelligence in particular bring to companies, with also being included a visio of the new methods of talent management based on research about positive psychology.
Nowadays, conventional approaches to the economic sector are closely linked to facilitating private investment and implementing well-designed and stable economic policies. To understand what the most promising sectors are, we need to look well at prices and use the "reshoring." For less conventional approaches, it is necessary to know where business ideas come from, what is the importance of the transmission in investment behaviour, understanding the role of government in financing innovation, verifying science funding and, very important, expose young people to cutting-edge technologies.
But to "plant" these seeds of prosperity, it is necessary to understand the importance of choice and stable economic policies, the importance that international trade has, how vital it is to have a solid and efficient financial sector and, finally, realize where ideas can come from (for example, it will be important to have investment in scientific research, show young people such cutting-edge technologies and have government as a kind of "catalyst for ideas").
Pablo Soler Bach
Associate Professor at IE Business School. Pablo is a Business Angel, currently active as a consultant and advisor for corporations and start-ups, and, as a Business Angel, invests in projects in different areas such as fintech, e-travel, legal technology, real estate technology, gamification or media . He is a Fintech mentor in the European Accelerator Startup Bootcamp, as well as the Finnovista Accelerator, focused mainly on Spain and LatAm.
What we can expect in this speach:
Pablo Soler Bach will explore some of Fintech and Reghtech major trends globally, from three main points of view: technology, “smart” investment and career opportunities.
Facilitated by increasing connectivity and evolving new technologies, such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, block chain, cybersecurity, the cloud, mobile networks or even IoT (Internet of Things), new and often revolutionary business models are appearing in Finance, an industry that is mostly data driven and has, currently, lower than ever barriers to entry. Billions of corporate, VC and PE dollars are being poured on start-ups worldwide, creating tens of thousands of new jobs and launching initiatives with potential massive global impact such as crypto currencies and Libra.
In the meantime, incumbents downsize or try to develop new capabilities through acquisitions or alliances, or by developing and supporting accelerators and incubators, in a thriving, rich and complex business ecosystem.
